CLINICAL DENTURIST PERMANENT PART-TIME #242022

The Brant Count Health Unit is currently accepting applications for a challenging and rewarding career opportunity as a Clinical Denturist.Reporting to the Director Program Standards, the Clinical Denturist will provide basic, ongoing denture care to seniors attending dental clinics operated by the Health Unit. Consults with patients, reviews medical histories and gets informed consent for treatment for denture services. Takes impressions for denture fabrication. Consults with contracted lab and/or design and construct dentures. Adjusts denture(s) as needed on clients. Educates the clients on post-denture care and oral hygiene. Troubleshoots if client is having issues adapting to the denture. This position is also responsible for supervising oral health professionals in a clinic setting to ensure effective teamwork and efficient flow of patients. Qualified applicants must be a graduate of a recognized Canadian Denturist Program and Registered and in good standing with The College of Denturists of Ontario. Have considerable experience in the fabrication and insertion of dentures. Knowledge of Public Health programs is considered an asset. Education and experience must be complemented by knowledge of current clinical techniques and procedures, including Occupational Health and Safety Legislation and infection control measures and procedures. The ability to work co-operatively with staff, clients and parents in a clinical setting are essential. Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written); especially with seniors and the ability to form partnerships with Dentists and other care providers in order to ensure accessibility of dental care and treatment for priority groups. Have a valid CPR Certification, Health Care Provider level. Be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and can provide proof of immunization. .
